Our Town Our Future: Florence’s General Plan Update

Our Town Our Voice! We need to hear from you! The Town of Florence is currently in the process of updating its General Plan. The existing General Plan was previously updated and approved by voters in Florence in 2012.


The General Plan acts as the guiding document for the future development of the Town over the next 20+ years. The document itself contains a community vision supported by goals, policies, and implementation measures to address Town issues and growth. WE NEED YOUR INPUT!

As part of this comprehensive General Plan update, the Town is seeking feedback on proposed Land Use Scenarios. Specifically, in relation to the character of the Town, Land Use informs Zoning which then dictates what is actually built within Florence. As such, feedback from the community is vital to establishing a long-term planning approach that will become the cornerstone of the Town’s new General Plan.


The public will have the opportunity to give input at an in-person or virtual community meeting on a desired Land Use scenario for the Town of Florence and learn about key takeaways from the Community Assessment that was completed in 2020.

This will be an Open House style meeting, so residents are free to arrive at any time during the hours listed and stay for as long as you would like.
